Many children have a severe allergic reaction to milk, peanuts, wheat, shellfish, latex and other types of allergens during their childhood. Having a child with these types of allergic reactions can be challenging. Even something as simple as a trip to the mall can be daunting. You wonder if it’s safe to feed your child food from the food court, or did they use latex gloves preparing it. You wonder if peanut oil was used in any of the foods and not listed on their menu. Even a friend’s birthday party becomes a hazard. You question the food he or she eats, the toys at the party and whether they are made of latex. You question everything like if peanut oil, wheat or milk was used in the birthday cake. Or if the latex balloons are going to trigger an allergic reaction in your child. The are so many substances that can cause a sever allergic reaction. Some of the more common ones are wheat allergy, an allergy to shellfish, peanut allergies, milk or lactose allergy, the list seems to be endless..

I met Spider in the fall of 1997, while visiting a friend?s home. Spider, a completely black kitten, along with the rest of her siblings, had been thrown into a croaker sack and tossed on the side of the road. Infested with fleas, her bones easily visible under her skin, and mewing constantly, Spider did not appear healthy. The friend and I gave all of the kittens a flea dip, after which Spider came to my side. Draping herself over my foot, she immediately began purring. I had a pet.

Nursing homes offer themselves in many economic climates and settings. And, in most cases are staffed with individuals that are dedicated to the well being of seniors
and their families.
The transition can be pleasant though it may be hard to imagine, even if you are moving
threshold to threshold, (hospital to nursing home).
Anger can be the order of the day with some residents. While some confide they feel rejected and cast aside when their families and physicians decided the move is best or perhaps the best for all involved.

A friend of mine lost his father within the past two weeks, after years of emphysema and a long bout with Alzheimer’s. His father spent all but the last three months of his life at his home, cared for primarily by his wife and two adult children, until his health declined to the point where he had to be transported to the hospital. He went from the hospital to a nursing home and back to the hospital, where he died.

Many parents are anxious about their child using a dummy. Dummies have been criticised for their potential to damage baby teeth and many parents worry about their child being dependent on an object to sooth rather than learning to sooth themselves. But they can have some benefits too, say experts.
Past the age of two, dummies can begin to disrupt the alignment of secondary teeth. So experts advise against prolonged use. Also, studies have found that introducing dummies too early may interfere with breast-feeding. But dummies are not all bad.
