There is one part of family planning often forgotten when deciding to have a family. That is, what are the preparations you need to make NOW to produce a financially wealthy child?
Most of the road-blocks to wealth are developed as a baby. These are responses to two basic environmental factors. Most important is the baby’s response to how he or she is treated. Also very important is the the child’s response to the attitudes his or her parents have toward money and toward those who have a lot of it.

Many children have a severe allergic reaction to milk, peanuts, wheat, shellfish, latex and other types of allergens during their childhood. Having a child with these types of allergic reactions can be challenging. Even something as simple as a trip to the mall can be daunting. You wonder if it’s safe to feed your child food from the food court, or did they use latex gloves preparing it. You wonder if peanut oil was used in any of the foods and not listed on their menu. Even a friend’s birthday party becomes a hazard. You question the food he or she eats, the toys at the party and whether they are made of latex. You question everything like if peanut oil, wheat or milk was used in the birthday cake. Or if the latex balloons are going to trigger an allergic reaction in your child. The are so many substances that can cause a sever allergic reaction. Some of the more common ones are wheat allergy, an allergy to shellfish, peanut allergies, milk or lactose allergy, the list seems to be endless..

When my brother was young, he had a fear of monsters hiding in the dark at night. To combat his fear, he would check that all windows and doors in the house were locked, turn on the lights in every room and check under the beds and in the wardrobes for ghouls and monsters, switch off his light and launch himself onto his bed from the doorway. It sounds funny now when I look back at it, but at the time, this process was deadly serious. Many children believed there were things under the bed that would snatch at our little legs and pull us into darkness before we could scream for help.

Do you want your child to cooperate with you more?
Children are much more likely to cooperate with adults who like being with them and who let them know they are worthwhile. This builds a level of trust and a feeling of safety. Within that environment, they are more likely to respond by being helpful and pleasant.
Relationships are created step by step. Sometimes the smallest things - a word of encouragement or small act of appreciation - can tilt the balance and create a whole new energy in a relationship.
We all need to feel accepted and approved of.

Children in the rest of the world seem to go to sleep when bedtime arrives. At least that is the perception among some noted researchers. Bed time comes and children go to bed. In the United States, some families have troubles getting children to bed. There are, from my perspective, several reasons for this difficulty in families.

Would you push your child out in front of an oncoming car?
No?
Then why would you allow your child to ride in your car without their seatbelt on?
Either way, the impact could be deadly.
If your reasoning is you are only going to the store, or just dropping them off at school, think again. Most accidents happen within 25 miles of home. A collision at thirty miles per hour is equal to jumping off a three-story building. Over 600 unrestrained children under the age of 5 are killed every year and 80,000 are injured as passengers in car wrecks. Seat belts could have prevented over 50% of these injuries and fatalities.

Puberty can be a difficult time for children. Not quite kids anymore and not really adolescents they are caught in the middle in type of limbo. It is a sad time for many young people too. Many look back at their childhood and realise that they can never really act the same way yet they look ahead and realise that adolescence will present them with its own peculiar challenges.
Children are reaching adolescence earlier than ever. The World Health Organisation estimates that in developing countries puberty begins about three months earlier every ten years. It is a stage when the maturity gap between girls and boys is quite evident - about two years.

I have been a single mom for almost 20 years. My kids were 3, 7, 12 and 14 when my ex left.
As a single mom, it’s often hard because you are the only one to deal with the children. Although, this can often be a blessing as well. There is no one for them to play against you.
Often you second guess yourself and wonder if what you are doing is right. There are times when you are and there are times when you aren’t. Overall, you have to do the best you can do. This poem was written when I was second guessing myself.
