7 Tips For Organizing Pet Supplies
By: Marilyn Bohn
Tips on organizing for pets:
? Keep all pet supplies handy. In a basket keep all supplies together, brushes, combs, flea collars or powders, soap, leashes, or extra toys. You may find it more handy to keep a brush near where you actually brush your pet, or keep soap under the sink where you bathe your pet. I have used several different brushes and my all time favorite is a rubber brush. They are made for cats and dogs. They last ‘forever’ and really do the job on getting off the cat or dog hair. And it is gentle so they enjoy being brushed.

How to Season your Cast Iron Cookware
By: Johnny Waymire
Cast iron has a porous surface. The seasoning process serves to fill and smooth the surface of the pan. It’s true that the more you use and season a cast-iron, the more non-stick the surface becomes. Here is how you season a new or used cast-iron utensil:
1. If the pan is new, be sure any adhesive label is completely removed.
2. Wash, rinse and dry the utensil.
3. Grease the inside surface with Crisco or other solid shortening. A medium-light coating, as you would grease a cake pan, is sufficient.

The Frustrations and Rewards of Parenting Teenagers
By: Chris Robertson
Most parents - whether they admit it or not - react to the onset of their child’s teenage years with either trepidation or absolute dread. We look back to our own teenage years, and wonder how our parents lived through our fads, our raging hormones, our rebellion, and our attitudes. Looking back, we know that parenting teenagers is no cakewalk, and can’t begin to imagine how we’ll survive the ordeal.

The Best Holiday Party Games
By: Dave Roth
Holiday parties can be incredibly fun. They can also be terrible. Much of this depends on who is there, but it also depends on what there is to do at the party. Most office parties and quite a few family parties are uncomfortable affairs because there is nothing to do other than eat and talk to one another. While these can be enjoyable, most people want to do something more than that with their evening. Some parties offer dancing, but a lot of individuals do not dance, and there is always the issue of what music to choose and whether everyone will like it. In addition, parties where alcohol is served can go downhill quickly if drinking is basically the only thing to do at the party.

How To Do Active Listening
By: Robert Najemy
Active listening is another basic tool of effective communication. It is employed whenever the other has a problem. We want to listen carefully to what the other is trying to say. Here are some guidelines for doing this.
1) LOOK INTO OTHER’S EYES - This is especially important, as the eyes are the real channels of deeper communication. If the other is talking to us and we are looking at TV, the computer, newspaper, or out the window, at the ceiling, down toward the floor, he or she does not feel recognized, important or connected with us.
