While cleanliness and a courteous staff are important criteria for evaluating a retirement home, there is more to consider before making your choice. Human beings require constant stimulation, with mental and physical exercise. The curiosity and zest for life a person naturally feels does not go away with age. Rather, a lack of excitement and even depression can set in because of inactivity. If a resident feels like a burden to the family and remains bored in his/her room all day, then that is hardly a life worth living! On the contrary, activity stimulates the mind and body and leads to happiness, better health and a retirement that is actually enjoyable. When choosing a senior living facility, make sure that the facility provides the therapy and activities that are healthy for its residents.

In 2011, less than four years from now, the leading edge of 76 million people will hit the traditional retirement age-65-years-old,, and for the next 18 years, millions of retirees will overwhelm the nation’s social security and medicare systems. Think carefully now! Are you a baby boomer? If you are troubles loom ahead and these facts affect you.
Between 1946 and 1964, 76 million babies were born in this country. We refer to them as the baby boomers, the most significant cohort in the nation’s history. Tim Sales, a network marketing trainer likens the baby boomers to a basketball moving through a water hose. If you know where the basketball is, and can figure out what 76 million people want, you can earn tons of money. From the late 1940s through the 1950s decade, the baby boomers made Gerber’s and Halbros million dollar companies. Baby boomers started getting driver’s licenses just in time to make the Mustang the nation’s number one muscle car in history. As these boomers hit their mid-to-late 20s, even early 30s, and had heard for the last time: “My house, my rules,” they fueled the nation’s largest residential building boom in history.

It is now a common understanding amongst masses that post retirement social security income and other benefits may not suffice. “Why do I have to memorize my times tables?” your child wails. “It’s boring and I hate math!” What is your response to such an outburst? If you are like most parents, you say, “Because you will always need to know how much 7 x 9 is!”
That never seems to be a good answer for a frustrated third grader. He or she is really begging for help! But the only method you know is using flash cards, and that doesn’t seem to do the trick and besides, it’s boring! Boring for you and for your child!

One couple recently introduced their three-year-old daughter to the ‘fine art’ of dishwashing. She so enjoyed her time at the sink. It was regarded as quality playtime.
On sharing this news with other parents, some were shocked at a three-year-old washing dishes - and appearing to enjoy it. Apparently, other pre-schoolers had wanted to help in their kitchens but were dissuaded by their parents.
“How strange,” commented the couple, “and then when the children become teenagers and no longer desire to clean plates, parents insist that they do!”

Shrek is the colorful main character in the Shrek movies, and a Shrek party makes for a wonderful afternoon for a boy or a girl. Now that Shrek has come out with his third movie, Shrek the Third, Shrek parties are more popular than ever!
A Shrek party is great for any child who loves the Shrek movies. Pre-made invitations may be purchased at any dollar, discount or party outlets supply store. If the party is being thrown on a budget make invitations at home using a mossy green cardstock and attaching Shrek stickers to one side. Write or print the party information on the other side and the guests will be excited to attend the Shrek party.

There have been many, many comics with the X-men in them as you mention. X-men, Alpha Flight, New Mutants, and X-Factor all feature multiple mutants. Spin-offs featuring one or two characters include Wolverine, Dazzler, and Cable. Then there were many issues where some or all of the X-men made guest appearances in other titles, such as the old X-men in Fantastic Four 28, Captain America 172-175, Angel in Tales of Suspense 49 (with cameos by the other X-men), Avengers 53, the intro of Wolverine in Incredible Hulk 180-182, new X-men in Marvel Team-Up 53, Annual 1, New Mutants in Annual 6.
